Other Worlds: Part One

Erin washed the pills down with the last of her lager and waited. The effects were instant.

Her eyelids drooped and her mind wandered to the nanoids traveling through her bloodstream, toward her brain. Soon they would latch onto receptors and she’d be on her way back to Talus.

It was now or never. This would be her last chance.

The machines found their target. A synaptic chain reaction contorted Erin’s cells for the journey. The world around her began to fold in half, pulling her down through a rip current.

Before she could gasp it was over.

“Took you long enough.” A human-like alien towered over her. His subtle reptilian skin flexed and shimmered. “I’m digging the leather.”

“I don’t have time for games, D’aerul.”

She had one day to find the source and save their worlds.
