I meant to write a blog post on Monday and then again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Where did the week go? Each time I thought about throwing something together my attention was pulled elsewhere in the studio. So here’s what has kept me busy all week…

I bought some Rising Stonehenge paper for printmaking and here’s my first block print! I’ve dabbled with block printing before, but never had the time to explore it further. That is changing now that I’ve begun using rubber block for carving. They are extremely gentle on my hands.
I’ve also been working on a painting which I hope to finish up early next week. Here’s my latest WIP image from this morning:
New art supplies arrived yesterday that I ordered from Dick Blick. I’m looking forward to my new venture into printmaking. To celebrate (not really) my daughter did this amazing braid with my hair.

A few of my friends commented on how long my hair is in that photo. Well. It’s actually 2-3 inches longer. That was one LONG braid.
The last bit of news was the arrival of a Frost Giant in my studio.

Lovely fishtail braid…I love it when my girls’ do my hair, I’m not great at plaits myself! And like I said on FB I love seeing your WIPs progress!
I often have my daughter braid my hair when I want it out of the way, but this type, the fishtail, was a first. And thank you! She is coming along.
